Did you know that on May 18, 1945, Luis Olmo became the first player in Major League history to hit a bases-loaded triple and a bases-loaded home run (grand slam) in the same game? This unique hitting feat went unmatched until May 5, 2013, when Miami Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarrias joined the "club".

When Luis Olmo took the field in the 1949 World Series against the New York Yankees, he became the first Major League ballplayer born in Puerto Rico to play in a World Series.
