"He's (Rob Dibble) the hardest thrower in the league, bar none. Some people say his fastball doesn't have much movement. Hell, how much movement do you need when you throw 100?" - Bill Mazeroski in Bill Mazeroski's Baseball (Bill Mazeroski, 1993 Edition, Page 48)

Did you know that Rob Dibble was part of the "Nasty Boys", a nickname given to the bullpen trio from the World Champion 1990 Cincinnati Reds which included Norm Charlton & Randy Myers? Dibble was an All-Star in 1990 (and 1991), the 1990 N.L.C.S. Most Valuable Player (along with fellow "Nasty Boy" Randy Myers / first pair to share the honor), and an important piece of the 1990 Big Red Machine which won the 1990 World Series by sweeping the Oakland Athletics.

Rob Dibble struck out three batters on nine consecutive pitches in the eighth inning of a 5–3 win over the San Diego Padres on June 4, 1989. This particular Immaculate Inning was the first known instance by a Cincinnati Reds pitcher and only the thirteenth in National League history.
