Runs Scored Records by Baseball Almanac, Inc.

The American and National League record for runs scored during a 9-inning game is six; however, on August 15, 1886, Guy Hecker of the American Association scored an all-time record seven runs during game two of a double header.

Did you know that Lou Gehrig is the only American League player to score five runs in one game twice during the same season : May 3, 1936 and July 28, 1936?

On August 9, 1895, Nig Cuppy of Cleveland scored five runs in a game which is the most runs scored by a National League (or American League) pitcher during a nine inning game.
