"He's added a dimension that you don't see in a leadoff man other than Rickey (Henderson). He's an impact player in the field, on the bases, at the plate. Right now, he's as good as any player in the league other than maybe (Kirby) Puckett. He's definitely had as much impact as any player." - Lopes, Davey Baltimore Orioles Coach. Sports Illustrated: Going Batty For Brady. 22 June 1992. Page 53.

Brady Anderson Stats by Baseball Almanac |
Brady Kevin Anderson was a Major League Baseball player with the Boston Red Sox (1988), Baltimore Orioles (1988-2001), and Cleveland Indians (2002). Did you know that Brady once held the Baltimore Orioles record for home runs in a season with fifty? Brady set the mark in the final game of the 1996 season; sitting on 49 home runs, the first at-bat of the last game, Cy Young Award winner Pat Hentgen on the mound, home run #50 breaking Frank Robinson's record for most home runs in a season by an Oriole). Brady held the mark until Chris Davis hit his fifty-first on September 17, 2013, and he remains the current record holder (53 in a season) through today.

Brady Anderson (50 HRs / 21 SBs / 1996) joined Willie Mays (51 HRs / 24 SBs / 1955) as the only players in baseball history with a 50 home run / 20 stolen base season, and Brady was the first from the American League. Since then, two additional junior circuit players have joined Anderson — Ken Griffey, Jr. (56 HRs / 20 SBs / 1998) and Alex Rodriguez (54 HRs / 24 SBs / 2007), no N.L. player has joined Mays.
"Because I only hit fifty home runs once, it was, in fact, an aberration. However, it was not a fluke. Nothing can be considered a fluke that takes six months to accomplish. Rather it was a culmination of all my athleticism and baseball skills and years of training peaking simultaneously... Hitting in front of (Roberto) Alomar, (Rafael) Palmeiro, (Bobby) Bonilla and (Cal) Ripken didn't hurt, either." - Brady Anderson. The Baltimore Sun. 20 March 2004.
Brady Anderson hit a lead-off home run on April 18, 1996, then again on April 19th, then again on April 20th, then a Major League record fourth consecutive time on April 21st!
Brady Anderson was hit by a pitch twice in the same inning on May 23, 1999, the first player in American League history plunked twice during the same frame! Brady tied the Major League record joining five National League players; Willard Schmidt (April 26, 1959), Frank Thomas (April 29, 1962), Andres Galarraga (July 12, 1996), Jose Guillen (September 23, 2010) and David DeJesus (June 18, 2012).
Brady Anderson roamed the outfield in an Orioles uniform in 1,681 games, more than any player in team history. Second place? Paul Blair, 1,640 games played in the outfield for the Baltimore Orioles.
Brady Anderson was inducted into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame on August 21, 2004 and prior to the ceremony Cal Ripken, Jr. said the following about his teammate (Source: Baltimore Orioles: Where Have You Gone?. Seidel, Jeff. Author. Sports Publishing. 1 March 2006, Page 40,), "When I think of Brady, I can't help by think of his athleticism. He was by far the best athlete I've ever been around. He was challenged on the field and off the field and competed in everything he did. He wanted to win at everything he did."
Brady Anderson is the only player to steal 300+ bases in a Baltimore Orioles uniform. In franchise history, he is just the second with 300-or-more-steals joining George Sisler, who had 351 career steals with the St. Louis Browns.
